The  Red  Caboose Inn
Haysi, VA

Owned and operated by Dennis & Diana Reedy.  The house is located at 157 Bartley Street, Rt. 693, within walking distance of town.  It is a two-story frame house with white vinyl siding.  At the present time only the downstairs has been renovated for lodging.  The Inn got its name from the three red cabooses sitting in the yard.  A wooden caboose has been built and is available for additional lodging.  A steel caboose has been restored to its original condition and is open for viewing.  A second steel caboose houses a small railroad and coal mine museum.  During summer months and weekends a country breakfast will be served.  During the school year a continental breakfast will be provided.  It is our desire to make our guests welcome and their stay a comfortable and pleasant one.  We are located directly on the new Crooked Road, Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, which extends from the Breaks in Dickenson County to Rocky Mount in Franklin County!  Even more recently the Virginia Coal Heritage Trail has been established and runs right by the Inn on its way from Pocahontas, Virginia, in Tazewell County, to the Natural Tunnel in Scott County.  We are half way between the Breaks Interstate Park and the John W. Flannagan Dam and Reservoir, which provide scenery, boating, fishing, camping, swimming, hiking, picnicing, etc.
